Introduction of Flotation Machine
Flotation machine is the equipment to complete the flotation process, which is also called flotation cell. The flotation machine is suitable for the selection of non-ferrous and ferrous metal, which also can be applied in non-metal such as coal fluorite and talc sorting.
The flotation cell is driven by a motor transmission when impeller rotates, which can form the pressure of centrifugal effect, and on the one hand, suction sufficient air is mixed with the slurry, on the other hand, to stir the slurry mixed with the drug is the second step while refinement of the foam, so that mineral above adhesive foam float to the pulp surface mineralized foam is formed.
Adjusting the height of the gate and to control the liquid level are the useful ways for foam scraper by being scraped off. The slurry with the pharmaceutical treatment can be fixed in bubbles above with some mineral particles selectively, which is scraped off by floating on the surface, and the rest can be still retained in the slurry in order to reach the purpose of sorting the material. There are many types of flotation machine, and the most common one is the mechanical mixing flotation machine.
Features of Flotation Machine
1. Self-suck air without foam pump, low power consumption.
2. Pulp-air intensive mixed help for solids lifting and suspending.
3. Promote positive vertical circulation of pulp, the process is easy to be changed.
4. Reasonable circulation of pulp decreases coarse sand sedimentation.
5. With feed pipe and impeller make sure the pulp is 100% mixed in every cell.
Working principle of Flotation Machine
When flotation machine is working, the pulp in the cell is breathed from the surrounding in the between of impellers. At the same time, the low-pressure air blew by air blower enters in through air distributor too. Pulp and air mixture totally, and then enter into the cell from the impeller.
When bubbles rise foam stability region, they are collected together and flow out into bubble cell. That is commonly known as hydrophobic mineral particles attached to the bubble, and float together with the bubble to the slurry surface.
Some other pulp flows towards the bottom of impeller, and is mixed by impeller with air again to form mineral laden bubbles. The rest will flow towards next cell until leaving tailings.
